Hi I am Danny

I am a Seattle based DJ, the owner of waSOUND — and a bar mitzvah kid myself, once upon a time.

I've been to this party before

I'm Jewish, and I remember every minute of my own bar mitzvah — the candle lighting, the hora, my whole family packed on the dancefloor. I understand exactly what this milestone means to your family, because I've lived it. It's important to trust your DJ — and this one has been on your side of the night. (That's me in the top photo, braces and all — and below, up in the chair at my own wedding.)

I run the games myself

Coke & Pepsi, Snowball, the Oreo face race, cup-stacking showdowns — I host every game personally, from the mic, start to finish. It's how I get a room full of kids (and more than a few adults) into the action with zero dead air. Those photos up top? That's just a regular night at one of my mitzvahs.

I am a pro. I will keep the night running smoothly — every announcement, every transition, zero dead air. And when it's time to dance, the lights turn on and the floor fills with kids and grandparents alike.

From the candle lighting to the hora — we hit every tradition

The traditions are the backbone of the night, and I treat them that way. The hamotzi — the blessing over the challah before dinner — gets a proper mic moment and a quiet room. The candle lighting gets a music cue timed to every name on your list. When your family wants to say thank you, I set the stage and hand you the mic. And the hora? The hora is the best fifteen minutes of the job — Hava Nagila at full tilt, chairs up, and every generation in the circle.

A Banging Dance floor

We know how to rock a dancefloor for every generation at once — games, dance-offs, and the songs the kids actually want, always in clean radio-safe edits. Rest assured that your dance party will be epic. If you have any hesitations, please read some of our reviews or ask around.

A Photobooth

Included with every mitzvah — our open air photobooth prints strips right in front of you! After the event we send you the digitals to download and share.

Our sound equipment is top of the line. If you are curious about any of it - just ask - we love talking shop.

Danny did an amazing job at our daughter's bat mitzvah party in early March. Communication from the initial intro meeting through the event was excellent. He met with us as a family to discuss the order of events for the evening and also coordinated with our event planner. Danny was great at reading the room to know when to move on from games to dancing and when to switch up the genres. Kids and adults commented on our DJ. Would definitely hire again if we have another big event. We also used Danny's photobooth and received a link a week after the event with all the photos people took.

Light up the night.

Lighting helps add drama and excitement throughout the evening. We use up-lights to light up the walls and dance lights to light up the dance-floor. Our lighting remains very subtle until we open up the dance-floor and switch the lighting to sync with the music.

You record a greeting for your guests, asking for a story or a piece of advice, they leave a message!
With our retro audio guestbook, you send us a greeting message for your guests. We recommend asking them to tell them a memorable story about you, or to share some advice, but you can ask for anything! When they pickup the phone, they hear the greeting and leave a message. After your party is over, we combine the messages and send you the file — a keepsake your family will come back to for years.
